CREATING A WEDDING CEREMONY THAT FEELS UNIQUELY YOURS

Every wedding we work on reminds us that flowers are about so much more than decoration.
When we arrive at a venue before the guests, it’s often quiet. The chairs are still empty, the music hasn’t started, and there’s a sense of anticipation in the air. It’s during those moments that we begin placing every arrangement, adjusting every stem, and stepping back to imagine what the ceremony will feel like when everyone arrives.
That’s one of our favourite parts of being a wedding florist.
For this ceremony, we wanted to create something that felt elegant without feeling overly formal. Using layered white flowers, textured greenery and varying heights, we designed an installation that framed the beautiful landscape without taking attention away from the couple or the incredible surroundings.
EVERY VENUE HAS ITS OWN PERSONALITY
One thing we’ve learnt over the years is that every wedding venue tells a different story.
Some venues are full of heritage charm, while others embrace modern architecture or open countryside. Instead of trying to make every ceremony look the same, we like to work with the space and let its natural character guide our floral designs.
Here, the rolling landscape and open sky became part of the ceremony itself. Rather than filling every corner with flowers, we created carefully positioned arrangements that complemented the view and allowed the scenery to remain part of the experience.
THE LITTLE DETAILS MAKE THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE
People often notice the larger floral pieces first, but it’s usually the smaller details that bring everything together.
The scattered rose petals, layers of greenery, flowing orchids and varying textures all contribute to creating a ceremony that feels considered from every angle.
Those details may not stand out individually, but together they create an atmosphere that guests remember long after the ceremony has ended.
OUR APPROACH TO WEDDING FLOWERS
No two weddings are ever identical, and we genuinely enjoy that.
We spend time getting to know each couple, understanding what they’re drawn to and how they want their wedding day to feel. Some love timeless white flowers, others prefer colour and texture, while many simply want something that doesn’t look like every wedding they’ve seen online.
That freedom to create something personal is one of the reasons we love what we do.

CREATING MOMENTS THAT LAST BEYOND THE CEREMONY
The ceremony may only last a short time, but the memories and photographs last forever.
When we design floral installations, we aren’t just thinking about how they’ll look from one angle. We’re thinking about how they’ll appear in photographs, how guests will experience the space as they arrive, and how they’ll complement the emotion of the day.
If we’ve done our job well, the flowers don’t steal the spotlight—they simply help create a setting that feels effortless and unforgettable.
Whether we’re styling an intimate gathering or a large celebration, our goal is always the same: to create wedding flowers that feel personal, timeless and completely suited to the couple standing in front of them. Contact Stem Design Today!
